Our first 4th July in Sarasota

We woke up with raindrops. It was wet. We wasn't sure we would go ahead with our beach plan.

(we had big plans for the day)

But the sun made its way out and surprised us all with its warmth. We indeed went to the beach. It was gorgeous to say the least. Clear sky, blue water and white sand. We all had a wonderful time.

We headed back home for a quick lunch and rest. The rain came back again. A lot of rain. The sun became shy and slowly left us. Rain. Rain. Rain.

Kids went down for a nap. Very, very calm around here. Everything seemed just as it was supposed to be. Very peaceful. Very quiet.

A little later we decided to stick with our plans and headed to downtown to see the fireworks. We braved out the rain. Just to be once again surprised with sunshine. Beautiful rainbow. Gorgeous sky. Nice air.

All the streets were blocked. We parked few blocks away and made our way to the crowd.

We situated ourselves to watch the show and then went for a little walk around our favorite spot. Reggae was playing tonight. It was just so perfect.

The sky was taking our breath away. What a gift! So hard to replicate in pictures.

We were ready to face a big crowd but the rain must have discouraged a lot of people and we ended up with a nice size of audience.

And the show was on.

Kalei was mesmerized when it first started. It was a good kick off. Beautiful!
