Still in Miami.
Coconut Grove.
It's a neighborhood with restaurants, stores and beautiful places. It was such a pleasant walk. The weather was gorgeous and this part of town wasn't busy.
This is how we started our last day of 2012.
Always stopping to play with their Legos.
Miami for us was a little escape from the cooler weather we were having in Sarasota. It felt great!
Matheson Hammock Park in Coral Gables. We spend some time playing soccer, reading and playing legos.
It was a little challenging for mommy to stay in one place for very long. She likes to be on the go every minute! :-)
But the boys sure enjoyed. My husband too. By the way, everywhere he goes he carries his book in his pocket. On this trip he also carried a notebook. Oh boy, and did he write. Every stop we made he wrote. Every bench we sat he wrote. Every time we rested he wrote. I have no idea about what!
Then we headed to Bay Front in downtown for lunch with more plans for a walk. It didn't go very well and we ended up spending our New Year's eve in our hotel room. That's life and I better learn that sometimes our plans don't succed. I am over it now.
Peek-a-boo
Downtown Miami
Our first hotel. The hotels were the highlight of the trip for the boys. We could be in any hotel in our own city and they would have enjoyed all the same :-)
They didn't want to leave the hotel. They would be happier just staying at the pool.
Before we left this hotel the Christmas tree was gone. So sad to be reminded that this beautiful season is once again over.
The view of the hotel from our room.
On the way to Miami. They did great. They played, read, drew, listened to songs and talked about everything!
The one thing we will remember the most about this trip is their bellyakes. Every time they wouldn't want to do something they had a terrible bellyake. We carried the boys around on some of our walks.
But with all its imperfections it was a great little vacation. One that I am happy we took. I am already looking back to it and cherishing the moments we spent together.
***
We had a great year. We were all healthy. We grew in faith. We bought our first house. We went to see our family in California. We made new friends. The kids did well in school. We found our church. And above all we were here for each other. I am very grateful for all the blessings in our life.
