Wow, Gabe's school campus is big!
We met his teacher Mr. Laessig last week. We heard only good things about him :-)
I let Gabe take the school bus from day one (it is going to be a long drive from home). But knowing how big his school is I followed the bus just to make sure he could make his way to his classroom. (it's different from the elementary schools in VA, it looks more like a college campus floor plan. It's all open and several buildings, so a lot of walking around!) His school is kindergarten through eight grade.
I always like to take a picture of him on the first day of school, and then one on his last day of school.
So I can really see how much he grew.
Here he is on his first day at the bus stop
He was the youngest one at the bus stop which made him only more nervous (i think)
Oh, my heart...(to be entirely honest I was much more anxious than he was)
In front of his classroom. We made it safe and on time! :-)
I also went back to his school at the dismissal time to make sure again he would find his way to the buses and find his own bus. I am telling you, it can be an overwelming experience. Mainly for a boy that left his comfortable zone, his friends, his town and his school all behind.
He did great!
I love you Gabe. Mommy wishes you a great year!
